Alois Brosch Obituary

Alois Joseph Brosch
1934-2017
Alois J. Brosch, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2017. He was born to parents, Alois and Julia Dornak Brosch on December 29, 1934 in Hallettsville, TX. He married Edwina Mikolajchak on June 22, 1957 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Houston, TX. He was a longtime Houston resident, a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Hallettsville, TX, and a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Houston for over 50 years. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1958-1960.
Alois showed his love and support for family and friends in many ways. He gave much of his time and support to the Catholic schools by serving on the school boards of St. Charles Borromeo Elementary School, Seton Catholic Junior High School, and St. Pius X High School while his children were in attendance. He also spent many hours working with various organizations at Assumption Catholic Church throughout the years. Alois was employed many years by DSI Transports, Inc., from where he retired. He loved the outdoors and all it had to offer from gardening to fishing, or just playing around with the kids in the backyard. He could be challenged to a game of dominoes at any time – loving the game of 42.
Alois is survived by his loving wife, Edwina; 4 daughters, Pam Kallus and husband Randy of Houston, Becky Hoffart and husband Ronnie of Hockley, Brenda Ross and husband Marty of Houston, and Mona Kristek and husband Mike of Katy; 2 sons, Karl Brosch and wife Debbie of Montgomery, and Glen Brosch and wife Mary of Houston; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Lee Brosch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Benedict Brosch; 3 sisters, Marie Brosch at infancy, Beatrice Pappas, and Bernice Haas; brother-in-law, Zygmund Nowak; niece, Catherine Pappas Petrash; and nephew, Timothy Brosch.
Pallbearers are grandsons: Joshua Kallus, Jeremy Kallus, James Kallus, Kyle Brosch, Nicholas Kristek, Branson Kristek, Randy Ross, Kyle Ross and Cooper Brosch.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Assumption Catholic Church, 801 Rose Lane, Houston, TX. Interment will follow at St. Martin de Porres Cemetery, intersection of FM 362 and Haley Rd., Waller TX.
