Remembering what a great friend you were, Ed, and the time we stayed in my uncle's penthouse apartment in Manhattan before you started college at Yale and I at Georgetown. You were one of my smarted friends and you loved every aspect of life so much. I will never forget you, Ed!

Eddie was a football teammate of mine at Rice University. He was an incredibly talented athlete and student. He was one of the few athletes who appeared regularly in the Rice Library where my wife worked. She has always thought highly of him because he was always so nice to her. We have fond memories of him and I reconnected with him more recently and he regularly exchanged some of his thoughts and passions with me.
We are so sorry in this loss for your family. He was a good man. May he rest in peace and joy in the arms of Jesus.

Aunt Peggie and Christi, I am so, so sorry for the loss of you're son and husband respectively. I so loved my First Cousin! I wish that I could have seen him in person many more times in the last 39 years. Lucky for me there are telephones and snail mail. I remember after he graduated from Yale and came back to California, Aunt Peggie and he, along with Grandma and Grandpa, stopped by my house for a visit. Eddie had a new word in his vocabulary. Dahling was my new nickname. He had always called me Angel like our grandparents. The last time I saw him he had one of those Z cars that were very popular (and fancy shmancy) in the late 70's. He drove me all around Wichita Falls, TX and up into Lawton, OK. He always said he had a champagne taste on a beer budget. The nickname he gave me after College now had a very thick drawl. He was (and I believe) still is such a trip. He is in Heaven now, I can just see him sitting right in between Grandpa and Grandma with God pouring a refreshing beverage (with a frothy head on top) and Grandpa cracking an egg to add it in. I love you Eddie!

Ed was a dear friend of mine from our high school years. He and I flew east together just prior to our freshman year in college - he to Yale and me to Georgetown. I have not seen him in decades but we had recently become facebook friends and communicated via e-mail. I had hoped to get together with him soon. He was a brilliant guy and warm and wonderful friend and I am shocked to hear of his death and will miss him terribly. My sincerest condolences to his wife, family and friends. Michael Blatty

This is truly stunning news. When I came to work at Global Marine back in 1996 Ed was one of the first people I ran into. I recall that he went out of his way to make me feel welcome. He was one of my favorite co-workers - witty, funny, charmingly sarcastic and just fun to talk to. I remember him running the Global Marine golf league, and looking forward to his email postings following each week's play. He was a master at using just the right adjectives to make the description of a round of golf both interesting and hilarious!

We worked together in a number of oversea's assignments. What a trustworthy colleague and friend. Ed is the kind of co-worker that made the Global Mariner's bonds a legacy. Wishing God's Blessings to your family.

So sorry for your loss Christi. He was a good one, one of the best, taken way too soon. Special in so many ways. Shocking to think he's not still with us. I knew Ed from GMDC in the mid 80's though the Transocean years. Brilliant, articulate, fun, and always a more than willing & reliable ally. His witty, informative & endearing gsfalumni blasts have kept the fraternity connected. It's the end of an era. He will be sorely missed.

Christie, Ed was brilliant, witty and dedicated, an unbeatable combination. He was well respected by those in the corporate office and in the field, and his retiree blog was a sensation.
He will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Christi and family our prayers are with you for peace, strength and healing. I met Ed when he first started at Global Marine back in the mid 1970s in our Los Angeles headquarters. We worked together Ed in the field and various Hdqtr roles; I ran into you both in Norway I recall it might have been the Biscay II. We've lost a good man. The way he picked up the retiree news blog for all of us was incredible - he kept the family connected through his wit and humor - something he didn't have to do, but because he wanted to do it - and he did it so well. Ed's gonna be missed by so many us who knew him well. God Bless. Dan & Pam Hansen

Sorry for the loss of your family member. Zechariah 2:8 is a comforting scripture to know your family is not alone that God feels us when we suffer.
