Schroeder-Konecny, Elaine
Elaine Schroeder-Konecny, age 88, 3400 Yorkshire Lane, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Laurel Grove Assisted Living, Manitowoc, where she had been residing the past two weeks.
Elaine was born on May 18, 1924 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor Broecher Jourdain. She was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. On August 10, 1942 she married Robert G. Schroeder at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1988. She later married Frank Konecny in May 1995 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2006. Elaine was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and was a church organist for many years. She also had been a member of the Two Rivers Historical Society, was an avid bridge player, enjoyed knitting and Japenses bunka needle work. Elaine enjoyed being out on the golf course playing golf and had the honor of getting a hole-in-one.
She is survived by two sons: R. Leigh (Marie) Schroeder, Manitowoc; James (Dana) Schroeder, Eau Claire, WI; eight grandchildren: Jeff Schroeder; Brian Schroeder; Kay Schroeder; Mike Schroeder, Lori Schroeder; Robert Schroeder; Erika Schroeder; Alex Schroeder, Mila Schroeder, Luke Schroeder; four great grandchildren: Mikaelyn, Benjamin, Emma and Samantha Schroeder, three step children, five step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, one sister: Pearl (Richard) Bauknecht, Two Rivers, WI; a special niece: Judy Berger; life long friends: Don and Judy Meneau; along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband: Robert Schroeder;
second husband: Frank Konecny; two brothers, four sisters and one grandson.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Pankow. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with private burial of the cremains for the family to be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to Jesus' Lambs preschool at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair Streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

It was a great joy to have known "Aunt" Elaine.
Maybe now Bonnie will take up Bridge once again. :) Our deep condolences to all who were touched by her.
