Rohde, Arline J. "Arlyn"
Arline J. "Arlyn" Rohde, age 94, of Two Rivers, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the Hamilton Care Center.
Arlyn was born June 18, 1918, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late William and Christine (Goethke) Rottmann. She graduated from Lincoln High School. On August 29, 1938, she married Paul Rohde in Gouvenor, NY. He preceded her in death July 2, 1983. Arlyn was employed at Schwartz Mfg, Two Rivers and the Herald Times Reporter, and was the owner of Rohde's Dog Grooming. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, a member of the Humane Society, held offices in the Eastern Star and was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church. Arlyn was an avid golfer well into her 80's and achieved a hole in one at Fox Hills Country Club. She was frequently seen on her power scooter on the trail between Two Rivers and Manitowoc with her dog and companion, Boa Bei.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Douglas Rohde and special friend Jane Hurst, Manitowoc; Gregory and Kathy Rohde, Green Bay; Guy and Debbie Rohde, Denmark; one grandson: Brandon (Angela) Rohde, De Pere; two great grandchildren: Brielle Rohde, Kaliel Tolliver; two nieces: Karen Allen, Dawn Manabe; and her beloved dog and campanion, Boa Bei.
She was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Clarence and June Rottmann.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Memorial service will be Rev. Joan Frost. Arlyn has been cremated at All-Care Cremation Center, and she will be laid to rest at Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Thursday, April 11, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Arlyn's name to the Lakeshore Humane Society, 1551 No 8th Street, Manitowoc, 54220.
