Mary Crane Obituary

Crane, Mary Jo (Klein)

Mary Jo (Klein) Crane, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah while surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Jo was born on October 14, 1933 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Philomena (Popp) Klein. She attended school in Manitowoc and was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1952. Mary Jo married Wilbert "Bert" C. Crane on February 19, 1953 and would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. She worked at Holy Family Hospital in Central Services and on the Maternity floor for many years. After moving to Wautoma, Mary Jo became a member of the Waushara Homemakers Club, "Happy Transplants" and the Wild Rose Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, reading, flowers, watching birds out the patio window and spending time with her family and friends. She wintered in both Key Largo and Port Richie, Florida over the years.

Survivors include Mary's husband of almost 60 years: Bert, Wautoma; four children: Jeffery Crane, Wautoma; Garvie "Curt" (Sarah) Crane, Traverse City, MI; Linda (James) Skaleski, De Pere; and Michelle Rogers, Wautoma; nine grandchildren: Dylan Mason, Sarann (Andrew) Struthers, Jeremy, Garvie and Ryan Crane, Steve and Joe Frawley, Ashley and Austin Rogers; great grandson: James Struthers; two sisters: Patti Stankey and Katie Brady; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by six sisters: Margaret Weber, Cele Dashner, Lucille Wilda, Judy Schaefer, Jenny Klein, and Dolores "Dodie" Rehrauer; and two brothers: Norbert Klein and Joseph C. Klein.

Memorial services will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Deacon Paul Kieffer will officiate and cremation will have taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Mary Jo's name.

Mary Jo's family would like to thank Dr. Beck, the caring, compassionate staff of Theda Clark Hospital and their hospice, and the staff of Wild Rose Hospital for the care they provided. Also, special thanks to all of Mary Jo's friends for the calls, cards, flowers, and all of their support.
