Lucas, Ione M.
Ione M. Lucas, age 84, formerly of Glenbeulah, passed away peacefully early Friday morning (Dec. 28, 2012) at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Ione was born on March 11, 1928 in Sheboygan, WI, a daughter of the late Chris and Myrtle Pierce Hansen.
She attended Mapledale grade schools and graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan.
On April 6, 1946 she married William K. Grunow in Sheboygan, WI. The couple lived in Sheboygan after marriage and moved to Glenbeulah in 1954.
She worked at Cleveland Container in Plymouth (also known as Clevepak) retiring in 1993.
On June 17, 1967 she married William Lucas in Glenbeulah, WI.
She is a baptized and confirmed member of Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah and also volunteered at the Plymouth Senior Center serving meals.
She enjoyed listening to country music, traveling, watching wrestling and the Green Bay Packers and spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include Six Children: Larry (Barbara) Grunow of Sheboygan, Wayne (Sharon) Grunow of Sheboygan, William (Mary) Grunow of Glenbeulah, Linda Grunow of St. Nazianz, WI, Mark Grunow of Plymouth and William Lucas of Manitowoc; Eight Grandchildren: Christine Grunow of Sheboygan, Wayne Grunow Jr. of Sheboygan, Chris Grunow of Manitowoc, Sarah Grunow (special friend, Brian) of Greenbush, Michelle Grunow of Glenbeulah, Cassie Grunow (special friend, Dan) of Glenbeulah, Todd (Lisa) Petersen of St. Nazianz, WI and Tabitha Donath of St. Nazianz, WI; Nine Great Grandchildren and One Sister-In-Law: Betty Hansen of Sheboygan.
Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Douglas Donath Jr., Wendy Grunow, and Harley Lucas; two great grandchildren: Jacob and Jesse and two brothers: Gordon Hansen and Jerome "Sonny" (Joyce) Hansen.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Jan. 3) at 12:30 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Don Johnson, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah will officiate and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in the Town of Sheboygan.
Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home from 10:30 A.M. on Thursday until the time of services. A memorial fund is being established in Ione's name.
