Eggers, Winifred (Win, Winnie) M.
Winifred (Win, Winnie) M. Eggers, 92, village of Cleveland resident, went home to her Lord, January 3, 2013. Born June 19, 1920 in "Hika", Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Clara Gartzke Mill. She attended the area schools, graduating in 1938 from Sheboygan Central High School. Winifred continued her education at the Milwaukee School of Nursing and graduated in 1942. She was employed as a registered nurse at Milwaukee Hospital and the Murdale Sanitarium. Winifred was the consummate nurse, always thinking of others, putting their needs and comfort above her own, thus providing a joyful example of Christ's love in action to everyone she knew and met. A women of great faith, dignified, charming, and immeasurably gracious and kind, she lived every day as a true reflection of her Lord's love and of her assured salvation in Christ Jesus. On September 5, 1942, she was united in marriage to John G. Eggers, at St. John and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland. The couple resided in Milwaukee and the marriage was blessed with two children. John and Winifred moved to Cleveland in 1976. John passed away June 8, 1993.
Winifred is survived by one son, Paul (Sandra) Eggers of Milwaukee; one daughter, Jennifer Eggers and her husband, Rick Schultz of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Eric (Christal) Eggers of Waukesha; Zachary Eggers of Madison; and Caleigh Wilson of Sheboygan; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Bee Wilson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, John, and two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Marian Koellner. Respecting Winifred's desires, there will be no visitation or service, but rather a memorial celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, Wis. A memorial fund has been established in Win's name at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord". Matthew 25:21

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom, Jen. She was a beautiful lady and I mean lady in every sense of the word. The world is now shy of a sweet, wonderful soul. May God keep her at his side. I can envision her there now. She was one of his best works.

Mrs. Eggers was a lovely lady. I was Paul's first baby sitter in Hika and even tried to teach him how to roller skate. It was always nice seeing her and her sisters at the Red Arrow reunion
