Carle, Jo Ann D. (Larson)
Carle, Jo Ann D. (Larson) Jo Ann D. Carle, age 78, a lifelong resident of Two Rivers, left this earth to dance with the angels in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Jo Ann was born on November 29, 1936 in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Paul and Albertine (Lesperance) Larson. She attended St. Mark's Grade School, St. Mary's Springs Academy in Fond du Lac and graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the Class of 1956. Jo Ann lived a life rich with adventure. After graduation, she served in the USO, worked at H.C. Prange, Paragon, Mirro, supervised for Rex Clean, and retired as a self-employed housekeeper. Later in life, she showed her love and appreciation for the community by doing volunteer work at the Rogers Street Fishing Village and the Two Rivers Historical Society. Jo Ann was a fan of the Packers, NASCAR, and ice hockey. She loved time with family, celebrating holidays and birthdays, attending local festivals, surfing the net, listening to disco music, dancing, coin collecting, genealogy, soap operas, Dr. Oz, and cake. Survivors include her daughter: Annette "Anne" Gretz (David) England, Two Rivers; two grandchildren: Stephani (Travis) Herman, Two Rivers and Zachary Thorne and special friend Lauren Koth, De Pere; three great grandchildren: Ciara, Owyn and Eli Herman. She is further survived by a sister: Ramona (Tom) Boutwell, Two Rivers; a brother: Samuel Larson, Beach, North Dakota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Lucille Honzik. According to Jo Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held. Instead, her family will celebrate her life by reminiscing with smiles and laughter over dinner at one of her favorite local restaurants. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, assisted the family with arrangements. The family extends their deep and sincere gratitude to Dr. Alfredo Diaz, Aurora hospital staff, the Aurora At Home Hospice team and all of the staff at the Hamilton Care Center for providing kind and compassionate care to Jo Ann, and for helping her make the swift and peaceful transition we prayed for.
