Holmes, Allan Peter

Allan Peter Holmes, 76 of 3820 State Road 40 in Bruce, WI, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Allan was born March 1, 1936, in Mishicot, WI, to the late William and Anna (Blum) Holmes. He was educated in Mishicot and graduated from Mishicot High School in 1954.

Allan served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1961. On June 28,1958, he married the former Mary Jean Theis at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Allan worked at Eisele Engineering in Appleton, WI from 1961 to 1981; St. Thomas Moore Parish from 1981 to 1986; Prime Fiber from 1986 to 1993 and City Forest Corp. from 1993 to 2006.

Allan is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jean; one son, Bruce of Bruce; two daughters, Lori and Michael Kramer of Eagle River, WI; and Wendy and David Creagh of Barrington, IL; six grandchildren, Steven and Jennifer Kramer, David, Brian, Patrick and Katherine Creagh; two great-grandchildren, Brently Easton and Kash Marrone. He is further survived by one sister, Bette LaRose of Manitowoc; and two sisters-in-law, Adeline Holmes of Mishicot; and Marjorie Holmes of Manitowoc.

In addition to his parents, Allan was preceded in death by his two brothers and their spouses, William and Beverly Holmes Jr. and Warren and Pidge Holmes; one sister and her spouse, Joyce and Ambrose Gadszinski; and an infant sister, Ann; two half brothers, Wilbur and his spouse, Lera Holmes and Elwood Holmes; brother-in-law, William LaRose; along with many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Allan P. Holmes will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bruce, with Fr. Gene Murphy officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mishicot. The Holmes Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday for an hour prior to service time.
