Leonhard, Clemens A.

Clemens A. Leonhard, age 85, of 1420 Hawthorne Ave., Two Rivers, died peacefully Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, at the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers.

Clemens was born September 9, 1927, in Cleveland, a son of the late Henry A. and Clara (Wagner) Leonhard. He attended Cleveland area schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1946 - 1947. On October 30, 1948, he married Myra Loessl at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2003. Clem was employed at Eggers Industries for 33 years, retiring as a foreman in 1990. He was member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, where he sang with the "Coming Home" Choir, was an active volunteer at the Two Rivers Senior Center for many years, a member of American Legion Post #165 and served on the Board of Directors of Riverwood Credit Union for many years. Clem was an avid bowler and also enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law: Mark and Diane Leonhard, Manitowoc, James Leonhard and Thomas Leonhard, Two Rivers, Paul and Shelly Leonhard, Valders; one daughter and son-in-law: Mary and Jeff Gehler, Two Rivers; eleven grandchildren: Christine (Tim) Brunow, Kimberly and Allison Leonhard; Andrew (Shannon) Leonhard, Alex and Stephanie Leonhard; Dylan, Haley, and Nathan Leonhard; Jacob Gehler and Genissa (Sam) Webster; and two great grandchildren: Zachary and Marissa Brunow. He is further survived by two brothers: Joseph and Walter Leonhard; five sisters: Rosemary Hickman, Gertrude Leonhard, Margaret Kramer, Marcie (Harold) Stein and Genevieve (Ralph) Kramer; sister-in-law: Jeanette Diedrich; special friend: Sylvia Ducat; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a daughter: Kathryn A. Leonhard.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with burial in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, on Sunday evening, April 28, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday morning at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Memorials in Clemens name may be made to the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Bell Tower Fund.
