Daniel R. Geiger, age 89, of Brillion, passed away on his birthday, March 18, 2012, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.
Danny was born on March 18, 1923, in Brillion, son of the late Daniel and Ida (Vogel) Geiger. He graduated from Brillion High School, class of 1941. On August 27, 1952, Danny married the love of his life, Beverly Ann Suchan, in Reedsville. She preceded him in death on September 9, 2011. Danny owned and operated the Tri County Farms until 1971 and worked at the Brillion Iron Works in the Farm Equipment Division, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Brillion Lions Club, and the Brillion Conservation Club. Danny was very active in the community and with church. He loved to play cards, collect coins, travel, weekends at Shawano Lake, and to garden. Danny was an avid fisherman and hunter and the deer are safe now! Danny also loved spending time with his family. He passed away on his birthday and joined his "Dolly" to resume their Sunday dancing that they loved so much.
Survivors include his children and their spouses: Mark (Mary Ann) Geiger of Francis Creek, Cynthia (Steven) Klein of Francis Creek, Daniel (Patsy) Geiger of Brillion, Lynn Ann (Thomas) Cisler of Maribel; 13 grandchildren: Jolene (Jake) Funk, Kristy (Jeff) Hahn, Lee Geiger and special friend Katie, DJ Chupita and special friend Alex, Stephanie (Jerome) Wotachek, Mike Chupita, Cassandra (Kevin) Krajnik, Tyler Klein, Sara Geiger and special friend Josh, Jennifer (Aaron) Kuhls, Christopher Cisler, Nicholas Cisler, Jennifer (Rick) Collins; five great-grandchildren: Isaac, Naomi, Samuel, Emma, and Logan; two sisters, five brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Rita (Allen) Wittmann, Brillion, Dolores Diny, Depere, Katherine Geiger, Brillion, Joseph Juckem, Chilton, Albert Brick, Depere, Gary Suchan of Reedsville, Ken (Sue) Suchan of New Holstein, and Rose Piepenburg of Brillion; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly, three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Norbert (Monica) Geiger, Elmer (Bernice "Bun") Geiger, Bernard Geiger, three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Ida Juckem, Germaine Brick, Hilaria (Eddie) Dvoracheck, Michael Diny, and other in-laws.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt, with burial in the Holy Family Cemetery, Brillion. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until 4:45 p.m.
