Krizizke, Elmer J.

Elmer J. Krizizke, age 90, a lifetime Two Rivers area resident, died early Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers.

Elmer was born November 26, 1922 in the town of Two Rivers, to the late Albert and Rose (Duerschmidt) Krizizke. He attended schools in Two Rivers, before joining the U.S. Army where he served with the artillery corps in the European campaigns during the War. On April 12, 1947, he was married to Beverly R. Russell at St. Francis Cathedral in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2004. Elmer worked for Manitowoc Shipbuilding for a short time after the war, and then worked for many years at Mirro Aluminum Goods until retiring in 1984. He enjoyed many years of hunting & fishing and loved all outdoor activities. He loved playing cards, playing dartball, and drawing pictures; he was very sociable and a real "people person." Elmer enjoyed the time with his grandkids and would look forward to any family gatherings. He was also a self taught musician who liked to play the harmonica and the guitar.

Survivors include his eight children: Roy and Barbara Krizizke, Two Rivers, Alan and Mary Krizizke, Two Creeks, Mark and Sissy Krizizke, and Dan Krizizke & special friend, Barb, all of Two Rivers; Evelyn and James Walecka, Kewaunee, Ruth and Keith Christman, Stangelville, Rose Krist & special friend, Mike of Manitowoc; Nancy and Randy Pinchard, Two Rivers; 24 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother, Harold (Lorraine) Krizizke, Two Rivers; one niece and two nephews. In addition to his wife, Bev, he was also preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ellen in 1970, and one brother, Victor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of the VFW Post #1248 and American Legion Post # 165 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Elmer's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Hamilton Care Center for the wonderful care and compassion Dad received over the past eight years. Special thanks also to a very dear friend, Violet Hynek who brought much joy & happiness to Elmer's life.
