Krowiorz, James P.
Retired Manitowoc City Fire Department Chief, James P. Krowiorz, age 61, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jim was born on February 17, 1952 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late James E. and Gladys DeWane Krowiorz. Jim attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1970. He continued his education at Lakeshore Technical College where he received his Associates Degree in Fire Science. For the next 15 years, Jim continued studies at Lakeshore Technical College with classes in Fire Science. Jim was with the Manitowoc City Fire Department for 34 years retiring in 2008 as the Chief of the Fire Department. On June 19, 1993 he married Patricia Kolenc at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Jim enjoyed biking and attending Wisconsin Badger sporting events with his close friend, Bob Zill. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Patty; son: Mitch, Green Bay, and son and daughter-in-law: Tyler and Kristin, Appleton; grandson: Simon, Appleton; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Anna Krowiorz, Manitowoc; Richard and Denise Krowiorz, Manitowoc; Russell and Pauline Krowiorz, Manitowoc; Jerome and Pam Krowiorz, Green Bay, WI; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Janice and Joe Laux, Manitowoc; Rita and Richard Knowles, Manitowoc; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ron and Caryl Kolenc, Sheboygan; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Stephanie and Mark Brown, Sheboygan; Pam and Dan Hundt, Sheboygan; nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: James E. and Gladys Krowiorz.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, N. 14th St. & Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with entombment of the cremains at Evergreen Cemetery in the Harmony Haven Columbarium at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at which time prayers will be read prior to leaving in procession for the mass at church.
