Jean Wilda

Wilda, Jean C.

Jean C. Wilda, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Shady Lane Nursing Home Center, Manitowoc.

Jean was born on January 30, 1924 in Brillion, daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Pritzl) Rank. She married Charles Wilda. Jean was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Daughters of Isabella and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She was a beloved stay at home mom. Jean was extremely quick witted. She loved to bake and travel with dad to visit her children. An avid reader; card games of cribbage, spite and malice and 31 were her favorites. She was generous with both her time and love. She enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels out of the kitchen window. She supported Peter's Pantry weekly. Her family and grandchildren were everything to her. She will be truly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years: Charles A. Wilda, Manitowoc; three daughters and one son-in-law: Mary & Tom Warner, Terrebonne, OR, Jane Main, Anchorage, AK, Louise A. Wilda, Beaver Dam; three sons and a daughter-in-law: David C. Wilda, Greenfield, Andrew Wilda, Manitowoc, Peter & Geri Wilda, Vancouver, WA; four grandchildren: Matt Main, Alta, WY, Charlot Pierce & her husband, Brandon, Anchorage, AK, Caiti Thornhill & her husband, Steven, Hutto, TX, Christine Wilda, Fairbanks, AK; one brother: John Rank, Wausau; and a sister-in-law: Mary Jagodinsky, Greenfield, WI. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Cremation will follow the service at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, with burial of Jean's cremated remains at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth, at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 until 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peter's Pantry or in Jean's name.
