John V. "Jack" Hopf age 89 of Manitowoc died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.

John was born July 25, 1923 in Manitowoc son of the late John J. and Alma (Klingholz) Hopf. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1941 from Lincoln High School. He then served in the United States Air Force from 1943-1946. On October 1, 1950 he married the former Marion Pfefferkorn. John was a member of the Lakeshore United Methodist Church and was active in scouting and the Manitowoc Elks Lodge #687. John was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge #687 where he also served as secretary for 25 years. John had a very successful career with the Weyerhaeuser Company as a sales executive until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and dining with his friends at various restaurants.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Marion Hopf, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Karen (David) Paulus, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Jeffery (Bonnie) Hopf, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Matthew (Alice) Paulus, San Mateo, CA; John (Malia) Hopf, Kona, HI; John Paulus, Manitowoc; Jackie Hopf, Manitowoc; one sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy (Herb) Herrmann, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law: Robert Pfefferkorn; one sister-in-law: Violet Pfefferkorn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Donald and William Hopf; and one sister: Harriett (Bob) Schneider.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Thomas Dunham and Rev. James Barnes will be officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
