Fischer, Leland E.

Leland E. Fischer, age 73, of 10308 San Rd. Whitelaw, died on Saturday afternoon, November 9, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.

He was born on May 18, 1940, in the town of Maple Grove, son of the late Alex and Marcella (Miller) Fischer. Lee was a graduate of Reedsville High School with the class of 1959. He served in the US Army receiving his honorable discharge in 1965. On April 30, 1971 he married Kathleen Binsfeld at St. Mary Catholic Church in Brillion. Lee was employed with Eck Foundry for 30 years and retired in 2003. He was an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Peters Pantry of Manitowoc. Lee was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus Reedsville Council. As a proud Veteran he was a member of the Reedsville AMVETS Post #1032.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years: Kathy, five sons and three daughters-in-law: Patrick Fischer, UT, Jon and Heather Fischer, TX, Andrew and Nicole Fischer, MN, Francis and Casey Fischer and Alan Fischer, all of WI; one daughter and son-in-law: Pam and Marco Fields, MN; one grandson: Gavin Fischer; three brothers and four sisters-in-law: Roger and Joanne Fischer, WI, Wayne Fischer, CA, Bill and Denise Fischer, Regina and Helen, all of WI; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Geri and John Leist, Jackie and Don Kriescher, all of WI; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Paul and LouAnn Binsfeld and Steve Binsfeld, all of WI; seven sisters-in-law and six brothers-in-law: Jean and George Wallner, WI, Sue and Tom Refermat, OH, Mary and John Gosling, Dorothy and Wally Johnson, Rose and Mark Wilson, Helen and Jim Hopkins, and Karen Binsfeld, all of WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Glen and Richard Fischer; three brothers-in-law: Harold Reimer, Francis and Joe Binsfeld and one sister-in-law: Laura Fischer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth. Military Honors will be accorded by the Reedsville AMVETS Post # 1032.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM concluding with a prayer service led by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. The visitation will continue on Thursday morning, November 14, 2013 at St Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Lee was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was active in the Boy Scouts and 4-H with his children. Lee loved the Packers, playing cards, meeting new friends, gardening and watching the birds.
