Rezachek, Wilbert "Whimpy"
Wilbert A. "Whimpy" Rezachek, age 88, of 2016 - 36th St. Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Friday evening, March 15, 2013 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Wilbert was born February 20, 1925 in Two Rivers, son of the late Adam and Victoria Rezachek and was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1943. Wilbert proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy
during World War II
from Nov. 20, 1942 to Feb. 20, 1946. On Sept. 28, 1946, he married Gloria Gates at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with sixty six years of marriage. Whimpy retired as a Graphic Systems Operator from Hamilton Mfg. Co. in 1988 after many years of service. He was an avid golfer; loved dancing; enjoyed many years of playing softball for the Sport Bar; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing sheepshead. He was active and served on various committees while a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was currently a member of the Men of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish. Above all, Whimpy enjoyed the time with his family, especially his grandkids & great grandkids and all their activities.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; two sons & daughters-in-law, Steven and Lisbeth "Betsy" Rezachek, and Brian and Faye Rezachek, all of Two Rivers; one daughter & son-in-law, Kathy and Doug Zwank of Middleton; five grandchildren, Michael (Ninke) Zwank, Patrick Zwank, Ben (Maddie) Zwank, Shaun (Bree) Rezachek, Ryan Rezachek; and five great grandchildren, Adaiah, Dakota, Finn, Bodie, and Joey; and another soon to be great-grandson. He is further survived by one sister-in-law, Cora Rezachek of Minnesota, one step sister, Lois Schroeder, Two Rivers; other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Leonard Bodenstab; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anton and Laura Gates; a brother, Paul Rezachek, and a grandson, Aaron Rezachek.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dick Mauthe, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by members of the VFW
and American Legion Post of Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
