Engelbrecht, William H.
William H. Engelbrecht, age 88, a resident of Manitowoc Rapids, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his home.
Bill was born on July 4, 1924 in Two Creeks to the late William C. and Frances Kimmes Engelbrecht. He served with the United States Army
from 1946 to 1949 and was stationed overseas in Korea. On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1949, Bill married Violet Becker at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Bill farmed and also was the store manager at Brunner's General Store in Branch for 18 years. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include Bill's wife of 62 years: Violet; son: William A. (Marge) Engelbrecht, Manitowoc; three daughters: Kerry Theis, Manitowoc; Jean (Ken) Reindl, Manitowoc; and Sandra (Dale) Mayer, Fort Atkinson; nine grandchildren: William J. (Jennifer) Engelbrecht, Jennifer (Luke) Stadler, Tami (Cliff) Pelischek, Thomas (Tina) Theis, Matthew Theis and his special friend Samantha, Adriane (Tyler) Campion, Alison Reindl, and Hannah and Rachel Mayer; 12 great grandchildren: Marissa and William K. Engelbrecht, Violet and Bennett Stadler, Hunter and Kurklind Kretsch, Tamber Pelischek, Halie Schefe and Morgan Theis, Dually and Colten Theis, Ryder Campion; brother: Otto Engelbrecht, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law: Lorraine (Richard) Wavruk and Eloise Habeck; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Alfred Engelbrecht; sister: Vivian Hallada; also two grandsons: Joseph Engelbrecht and Andrew Reindl; and two great grandsons: Colten and Dually Theis.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The visitation will continue on Monday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1033 S. 8th Street, Manitowoc from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Benjamin Schaefer will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by VFW
