Bill worked as a commercial artist for many years, and was a co-founder of Designhaus, Incorporated. During his commercial art career, Bill's most recognizable work was the Harley-Davidson red, white, and blue number one logo. Prior to his retirement, Bill worked as a resident supervisor at a community-based residential facility for the developmentally disabled.

Bill was an avid organic vegetable gardener, specializing in tomatoes. He was very involved at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Cedarburg. He was a founding member of the church, active in the church choir, served as cantor, and a member of the Arts and Beautification Committee.

Most importantly, for the past nine years, Bill assisted Sharon in the care of their grandchildren, Kyle and Stephannie Ohde, who were the joy of his life.
