Damm, Calvin R.

Calvin R. Damm, age 76 of rural Manitowoc died peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Calvin was born on August 9, 1937 in the town of Eaton, son of the late Fred J. and Ida M. (Radder) Damm. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins. He grew up in Collins and attended grade school there. Cal graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1955. On August 4, 1962 he married Marlene TeVrucht at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Chilton.

He worked at Manitowoc Engineering for more than 40 years. In his retirement he worked for the Valders Journal. Cal enjoyed gardening, winemaking, woodworking, and building furniture for his grandchildren. He was a lifelong bowler and enjoyed golf. He really enjoyed going to the Packer games with his special friends, the Newbergs. Cal loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc; serving on the church council, a member of the church choir and the Men's Club.

Cal is survived by his wife: Marlene, rural Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sue and Dave Kirt, Green Bay and Julie and Jeff Sauer, Waupun; one son and daughter-in-law: David and Tricia Damm, West Allis; three grandchildren: Cassandra and Caleb Sauer and Alex Damm. He is further survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Gerald and Barbara TeVrucht, TN and their family: Michael and Brooke TeVrucht and their children: Mason and Mallory; Mark and Ann TeVrucht and their son: Jared; a brother-in-law: Robert TeVrucht, CA; nieces and nephews: Debra and Tom Lorfeld, and their children: Katrina and Matthew; Ann and Todd Preston, and their children: Meghann (Aaron Voegeli), Lauren, Ashley, and Cole. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers and sisters-in-law: Allen and Ora Mae Damm and Ted and Lorraine Damm; his nephew: Terry Damm, a niece baby Damm and a sister-in-law: Karen Swenson-TeVrucht.

The Funeral Service for Cal will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc at 11:00 A.M. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Zachary DeArmond, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
