Clarence R. Klingeisen, age 102, formerly of rural Manitowoc, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at St. Mary's Nursing Home, Manitowoc.

Clarence was born on December 23, 1909 in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Reinhard and Anna (Vogel) Klingeisen. On February 4, 1935 he married Irene Heinzen at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. They celebrated more than 64 years together and she preceded him in death in 1999. Clarence enjoyed traveling and gardening. He farmed in Manitowoc Rapids all his life retiring in 1974. Clarence was also employed with the Town of Manitowoc Rapids. He was the Sexton at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno for over 20 years. His memberships include the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph and the Knights of Columbus Counsel #710 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Donna M. Gintner, Mary and Allan Zych, all of Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: John and Nancy Klingeisen, Manitowoc; nine grandchildren: Linda (Randy) Gordon, Mark (Sheri) Gintner, Cheryl Ohman, Julie (Tom) Hoban, Robert (Ruth) Zych, Barbara (Kevin) Krueger, Michelle (Joe) Beightol, Christina (J.J.) Ploederl and Jennifer (Matt) Heim; 18 great-grandchildren: Melissa, Scott, Luke, Kendra, Karlie, Dexter, Tyger, Jamie, Jessie, Heather, Brady, JorJa, Braden, Caleb, Sophie, Twins: Carter and Chloe, Owen; one great great-granddaughter: Emmalynn; one sister and brother-in-law: Mary Ann and John Preston, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one son-in-law: Kenneth Gintner; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Agnes Klingeisen, Lester and Dolores Klingeisen; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Lillian and Clarence Savage, Rosella and Wilfred Miller, Violet and Louis Schleis.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
