Van Patton, Clinton C.

Clinton Charles Van Patton, age 73, a Manitowoc resident, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, February 18, 2013 at his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on March 18, 1939 in Greer South Carolina, son of the late Charles Van Patton and Willie Mae (Peace) Hill. Clinton attended High School in Greer, South Carolina. Clinton served in the US Navy from 1956 until 1960, where he was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois. On October 1, 1960 he married Judie McKay at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on March 18, 1994. He was employed as a car salesman for more than 30 years with Lauson Chevrolet and Larson Chevrolet of Manitowoc before his retirement. Clinton loved to build model cars. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved listening to music, especially country music. He enjoyed playing softball and other sports. Clinton also took great pride in his lawn where he tended to the rose garden and tulips with the love of his life, Judie.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Connie and Brian Rusch, Manitowoc, Bonnie and Scott Turczynski, Manitowoc, Pam and Russ Swagel, Manitowoc, Becky Basler and fiancé Marc Meissner, Mishicot; nine grandchildren: Ashley, Tyler, Alisha, Kristin, Angel, Colten, Daniel, Jessica and Lydia; two great-grandchildren: Skye and Aveya; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Joyce and Kenny Rogers, South Carolina, Pam and Brian Horrocks, England; one half-sister: Barbara and Alan Thompson, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law and two brother-in-law: Barbara and Louis Rocheleau, Two Rivers and Betty and Bill Eisch, Mauston. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Judie, mother: Willie Mae Hill, father: Charles Van Patton, two step-fathers: Sam Frady and Joe Hill; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Lydia and Harold McKay; one half sister: Patsy Van Patton; six brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Glenn McKay, Harold McKay, Eugene McKay and John McKay, Jenny and Ott Greene, Jean and Gene Keough and Joan McKay.

Funeral Services for Clinton will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by the V.F.W. Otto Oas Post # 659, with a reception to be held at All-Care Family Center following committal prayers and Military Honors.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The visitation will continue on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
