Brandl, Gary D.

Gary D. Brandl, age 62, a resident of rural Manitowoc, passed away following an eight year battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at his residence.

Gary was born on October 22, 1950 in Milwaukee to the late Clifford and Marilyn (McMurtrie) Ferry. He attended Washington High School in Two Rivers and completed his education from LTC. Gary served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. On March 5, 2007, Gary married Linda Ann Brandl at Kapalua Bay Beach in Hawaii. He was employed as a molding specialist at MCM Composites for the last 30 years. Gary was a very dedicated employee who loved his job and the people he worked with. He was very mechanically inclined and liked figuring out how things work and fixing things. Most recently, Gary's new adventure was taking pilot lessons to obtain his pilot license. He enjoyed restoring old vehicles, cooking and entertaining, dancing, rock n' roll music - especially Elvis, going to car shows and movies, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include Gary's loving wife: Linda; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Jessi (Ferry) and Shane Renzelman, and Ashley (Ferry) and Dave Sheffer; five grandsons: Cylvin, Cale, Cadon, Corben, and Landon; one brother and sister-in-law: Daniel and Sally-Jo Grant; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Sharon and David Mohr, and Debbie Witte; also nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law: Leon Brandl and Robert Witte.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. At 4 p.m., a celebration of Gary's life will take place where family and friends will be given the opportunity to share stories and memories of Gary. Immediately following, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to
