Wichlacz, Joseph G.

Joseph G. Wichlacz, age 84, of 7721 Hwy 147, town of Two Rivers, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County.

Joe was born August 30, 1928, in Two Rivers, son of the late Andrew and Francis (Zywicki) Wichlacz, Sr. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On April 18, 1953, he married the former Gertrude Kusiak at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Joe had been employed at Burger Boat, was owner of Wichlacz Food Market, foreman at Hoffmann Brothers, retiring from Joseph Schmidt Brothers in Sheboygan. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 731, V.F.W., and a volunteer Firefighter for the town of Two Rivers. Joe enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and yard work.

Survivors include his wife: Gertrude Wichlacz, Two Rivers; one son and daughter-in-law: Dale and Lisa Wichlacz, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Paul Novak, Denmark; his pet cat "Tracy"; one brother: Andrew Wichlacz Jr., Two Rivers; four sisters and one brother-in-law: Julie Serrahn, Luxemburg; Hattie Kusiak, Manitowoc; Dorothy (Bob) Trost, Charlevoix, MI; Angeline Lodl, Two Rivers; in laws: Kathleen Wichlacz, Two Rivers; Esther Olson, Milwaukee; Eugene and Terri Goessl, Sun Prairie, Sharon Holda, Virgie Reignier, both of Green Bay; and Clara Kusiak, Denmark. Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister-in-law: George and Bernice Wichlacz, Ed Wichlacz; one sister and brother-in-law: Florence and Bob Gagnon; inlaws: Karl (Cully) Serrahn, Howard Lodl Sr., Janice Wichlacz, Edward Kusiak Sr, Earl and Elsie Cywinski, Melvin Olson, Walter Kusiak, Chester Kusiak, Robert Holda Sr., Jerry Reignier, Jim Nichols, mother-in-law: Margaret (Kusiak) Holda; and father-in-law: Stanley Kusiak.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11,2013, at The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Entombment will be at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Military Honors will be accorded by the Two Rivers V.F.W. and American Legion.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday evening, May 10, 2013, at The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
