Deubler, Lester J.

Lester J. Deubler, age 88, a Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday morning, December 18, 2012 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on June 13, 1924 in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Mary (Mahler) Deubler. Lester was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1944. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1944 to 1946 in Europe with the Military Police transporting German POWs. On August 30, 1947 he married the former Elaine Stradal in Manitowoc. Lester was employed as a general foreman at Mirro Corporation for 44 years until his retirement in 1986. He loved golfing and celebrated his first hole in one at the age of 86 at CNC Links in Newton. Lester had his own boat and enjoyed fishing when ever he could. He also volunteered at Aurora Medical Center and played drums in polka bands for many years. Lester was a long time member of the Manitowoc American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88. He recently was able to join his fellow World War II Veterans on the Honor Flight to see their war memorial in Washington D.C.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Elaine Deubler, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Barb & Page Parker, Janesville; one son and daughter-in-law: David & Tamara Deubler, Kiel; four grandchildren: Brian (Rachel) Wales, Michael Wales, Allison (Michael) Baumgartner, Melyssa Deubler; one great grandchild: Charlotte Baumgartner; and his twin brother: Chester Deubler, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law: Milton & Rose Deubler, Roy & Sally Deubler; a sister and brother-in-law: Irene & Adolph Kadow and a sister-in-law: Delores Deubler.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. James Klein with Military Honors to follow. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth, at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 until 2:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Aurora Bay Care and the nurses and staff at Shady Lane for their care and compassion given to Lester and his family. The family would also like to thank all of Lester's friends who said prayers for him through his illness.
