Mangin, Mary A.

Mary A. Mangin, age 92, formerly of 16831 W. Hillcrest Rd. Reedsville, died peacefully Monday morning, April 15, 2013 at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center with her loving family at her side.

Mary was born Sept. 17, 1920 in the town of Franklin, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Havlovitz) Yohanek. She married Paul G. Mangin on Sept. 15, 1942 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Together, the couple farmed in the town of Franklin for many years. Paul preceded her in death February 19, 2003.

Mary was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Maple Grove, and was active with the Christian Mother's Altar Society. She currently was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion. Mary enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and playing bingo and card games with her family.

Survivors include four daughters & three sons-in-law: Carol (Chuck) Spiering, Manitowoc, Jean (Nick) Schaden, Whitelaw, Cheryl Lensmeyer, Maple Grove, and Nancy (Dan) Mitchell, Appleton; eleven grandchildren: Steve (Teresa) Spiering, Jodi Pavlik, Tim (Kelly) Spiering, Sally (Dave) Swoboda, Eric (fiancée, Jennie) Schaden, Ryan and Troy Schaden, Jill (Brian) Brey, Joe (friend, Heather) Lensmeyer, Jesse (Kim) Schneider, and Kelly (Jeff) Propson; two step-grandchildren, Samantha (Aaron) Waltemate and Rachel Mitchell; fourteen great grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters: Emily Burish, Clara Hacker, and Mildred Hynek, all of Manitowoc; one sister-in-law, Lillian Mangin, Manitowoc; and one brother-in-law, Orie Schisel, Brillion; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christy Lensmeyer in 1996; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Iris Yohanek; three sisters & six brothers-in-law: Elizabeth and Harry Shupita, Kathryn Milbauer (Paul Augustine and Frank Milbauer), Anne and Victor Krummel, Gordon Burish and Lester Hacker; and by four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law: Lorraine and Chester Eiles, Michael and Lillian Mangin, George Mangin, Elizabeth and Walter Massman, and Margaret Schisel.

Funeral services will be held at 12 o'clock Friday, April 19, 2013 at Holy Family Parish, 1100 W. Ryan St., Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Timothy Brandt, with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Parish in Brillion after 9:00 a.m. Friday morning until the time of mass at 12:00 noon. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

The Mangin family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center for their loving and compassionate care shown to our mother the past 2 ½ years and in her final days.
