Funk, Robert E.
Robert E. Funk, age 72, of 2508 16th Street, Two Rivers, died Sunday night, July 28, 2013 at his residence, after a five year battle with Frontal-Temporal Dementia.
Robert was born on August 17, 1940 in Two Rivers, a son of Marie (Huss) Funk and the late Norbert Funk. He attended Two Rivers Schools and was a graduate of Washington High School. Bob then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country until 1961. On May 22, 1965, he married Nancy Spaeth at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He began his employment with the Mirro/Newell Corp. in 1961, retiring as a Tool & Die Supervisor in 2001 after 40 years of service.
Bob was a person ready to help anyone that needed a hand with any project. He loved spending time with his family; hunting, fishing, and especially the time spent at his trailer in Lakewood, WI. He will be truly missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; his son: Kurt (Connie) Funk, and their children, Austin & Megan; two daughters: Brenda (Randal) Meyer, and their children, Melissa & fiancé, Cody Gossfeld, and Christopher Meyer; and Gail Funk. He is further survived by his mother, Marie Funk of Two Rivers; one brother, Tom Funk of Two Rivers & special friend, Elsie Korinek; three sisters and three brothers-in-law: Janet Shaw of Mishicot & special friend, Mike Franz, Ruth (Brian) Marcelle, Two Rivers, Helen (Arthur) Haase, Two Rivers, and William Prahl of Rhinelander; one uncle, several aunts, nieces, and nephews also survive. He will also be greatly missed by his three dogs: Snickers, Peanut, and Nestle. In addition to his father, Norbert, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Florence Spaeth; brother & sister-in-law, Harold and Nancy Funk; and a sister-in-law: Alyce Prahl.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Rd., Two Rivers. Rev. Tom Reynebeau will officiate at the mass, with burial to take place at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, after 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation.

Robert's family would like to extend a special thank you to Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls; Aurora's VNA Home Care, especially Joy & Cathy; and Aurora's VNA Hospice for the excellent care and compassion given to Bob and his entire family during his illness.
