Drape, Roger K.

Roger K Drape, 74, beloved husband of Winifred Drape, of Manitowoc, WI, died on Friday, September 20, 2013, after a short illness, surrounded by his family at the Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, WI.

He was born in Tripoli, IA on May 2, 1939, to Erwin and Marie Drape. He graduated from Tripoli High School in 1957. He married Jean R. Biermann on January 25, 1959; she passed away on November 5, 1989. He retired from I.W.I. Motor Parts in 1995 after working for many years as a purchasing agent for Lewis Motor Supply in Waterloo, IA. He married Winifred Schneck on August 5, 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Winnie, of Manitowoc; daughters, Dana (Tom Foley) Drape of Des Moines, IA and Michaela (Randy) Waschkat of Waterloo; stepdaughter, Sarah (Mike) Driscoll of Hingham, MA; stepson, Jason (Joanne Hinkel) Schneck of New York, NY; grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Ethan Foley; Haley and Olivia Waschkat; Maggie and Nelson Driscoll and Celia Schneck; brothers, Dale (Jolane) Drape of Chesterfield, MO; and Gaylen (Nora) Drape of Melbourne, FL; and sisters, Diane (Warren) Snyder of Omaha, NE; and Sheryl (Lew) Williams of Welch, MN.

Roger was a man who lived his Christian faith through service at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, then First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc, as well as through volunteering for many organizations including the Manitowoc Public Library, Manitowoc Public Schools, Golden Kiwanis, the Mayor's Advisory Board , the Red Cross, and the Lincoln Park Zoological Society. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, golfing, traveling, theatre, watching the Packers, siren duty at the Waldo Fire Station, and a good meal!

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, the Manitowoc Domestic Violence Center, Melnik Presbyterian Church, or Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, IA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, at Melnik Presbyterian Church, 12320 Melnik Road (Cty R to Cty Y to Melnik Road) in Melnik, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. with lunch following. Services will also be held in Waterloo, IA. at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25 at Hagarty - Waychoff - Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before services at the church on Thursday.
