Johnston, Carol M.

Carol M. Johnston, age 80, a resident at the Felician Village, Manitowoc, died peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Villa.

Carol was born on December 16, 1933 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Myron and Ester (Neumann) Taylor. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1952. On September 21, 1963, Carol married Dale R. Johnston at First German Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Dale preceded Carol in death on October 14, 1995 after 32 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed farming in the town of Liberty until 1988. Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter and two sons-in-law: Diane and Dennis Gass, Manitowoc and John Thews, St. Nazianz; three grandchildren: Jason, Jared and Megan Gass; one sister and brother-in-law: Dorothea and Eddie Brice, Manitowoc; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Ruth Ann and Lon Kopitzke, Elllison Bay. Carol is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband: Dale Johnston; daughter: Julie Thews and two brothers: Ralph and William Taylor.

Funeral Services for Carol will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Zachary DeArmond, burial will take place at Valders West Cemetery, Valders.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
