Novachek, Marian G.

Marian G. Lambert Novachek, 78, of Two Rivers, passed away on May 22, 2014, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Marian was born Aug. 16, 1935, daughter of the late Charles and Rachel Ringmeier Lambert of Kellnersville. She was a 1953 graduate of Mishicot High School, and a 1957 graduate of Wisconsin State University—Whitewater, where she earned a bachelor of education degree in business education. She married Clarence Novachek on Sept. 23, 1961, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Kellnersville. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage together.

Marian taught at Valders and Greenfield high schools, and for many years taught typing, keyboarding and accounting adult night classes through Lakeshore Technical College at various area schools. She was a member of Holy Redeemer/St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic parishes in Two Rivers, where she was active as secretary and treasurer, and served in many capacities with the ladies group. She also was an officer on the Green Bay Diocesan Council for Catholic Women. Marian also enjoyed volunteering at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and working at the polls for elections. In her free time, Marian enjoyed reading, traveling with Clarence on bus trips, working crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and working with people.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Clarence, of Two Rivers; two daughters and sons-in-law and one son and daughter-in-law, Catherine and Charles Schwartz of Plymouth; Karen and Mark Gehring of Menomonee Falls; and Gregg Novachek and Jessica Van Slooten of Manitowoc; four grandchildren, Daniel and Laura Schwartz, and Scott and Grace Gehring.

She is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy Lambert of Kellnersville; Grace Dvorak of California; Lillian and Joseph Kubsh of Manitowoc; Joyce Novachek of Two Rivers; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Lillian Novachek; her brother, Ken Lambert; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Dvorak and William Novachek; and one nephew, Don Dvorak.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 27, 2014. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at the church after 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 10:30 a.m.

Marian and her family would like to thank Dr. Lynn Baatz and the Cancer Care Center at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, along with Holy Family's home care and hospice staff, for the care and compassion they provided. Cathy, Karen and Gregg thank their dad, Clarence, for his tireless, attentive, loving care for Marian during her journey.
