(Clarksen) Freed, Lois M.

Lois M. (Clarksen) Freed, age 84, of 2224 School St. Two Rivers, died unexpectedly late Saturday night, June 7, 2014 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Lois was born September 30, 1929 in Two Rivers, to the late Edgar and Della C. (Schmidt) Stegemann. She attended St. John's Lutheran Grade School and Washington High School in Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1947. On March 30, 1948, she married Lowell Clarksen in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1971. She then married Henry K. Freed on January 12, 1997 at Grace Congregational Church, Two Rivers. He also preceded her in death on October 7, 2010. Lois worked for several years in the family operated grocery business in Two Rivers, before also working at Sears and the Clarksen Insurance Agency of Two Rivers. She then returned to work for Sentry Foods until her retirement. Lois enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially with her grandkids; she enjoyed many years of traveling; and also the time spent at the family cottage in Door County.

Survivors include her children: Lloyd and Aleda Clarksen, Lynne and Ron Krizek, and Lana and Scott Linzmeier, all of Two Rivers; eight grandchildren: Rob (Francie) Clarksen, Ryan (Kim) Clarksen, Kevin (Marla) Krizek, Karl Krizek & fiancé, Megan, Kayla (Steve) Nolan, Derek Linzmeier, Brett Linzmeier, and Jacque Linzmeier; and eight great grandchildren: Bridget, Rory, Emma, Alex, Noah, Destiny, Dominick, and Hannah. She is further survived by a brother & two sisters-in-law: Alan and Marilyn Stegemann, Two Rivers, Joyce Stegemann, Manitowoc; one aunt Delores Carron, Two Rivers; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, first husband, and her second husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Lee M. Clarksen, and one brother, Glenn Stegemann.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St. Two Rivers. Rev. Kim Henning will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
