Mountford, John R.
John R. Mountford, age 48, of 3721 Johnston Drive, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Tuesday night, June 10, 2014 at Aurora Bay Care Center of Green Bay.
John was born September 2, 1965 in Peoria, IL son of Joretta (Chermak) Mountford and the late John "Jack" Mountford. John grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1983 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. John graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. While at Stevens Point he was a member of TKE (Tau Kappa Epsilon) Fraternity. On September 26, 1992 John married the former Teresa Sisel at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot.
For the past fourteen years John was employed with Cawley Digital ID. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, a supporter of Heart-A-Rama for many years and a former member of the Manitowoc Elks Club. Being a sports enthusiast, John enjoyed many sports, especially golf, the Wisconsin Badgers and the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed to travel.
Survivors include his wife: Teresa Mountford, Manitowoc ; his mother: Joretta Mountford, Manitowoc; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Jan (Dean) Graunke, Manitowoc; Julie (Ted) Welsing, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Jason (Kelli) Mountford, Waterloo; his mother-in-law: Delores Sisel, Mishicot; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Gerald M. (Amy) Sisel, Mishicot; Tim (Vickie) Sisel, Two Rivers; Tom (Mary) Sisel, Two Rivers; Chris Sisel, Pompano Beach, FL; Kathy (Kirk) Pelnar, Green Bay; Rob (Lori) Sisel, Denmark; Linda (Kenny) Shillcox, Two Rivers; Laurie (Greg) Wypiszenski, New Franken, a special aunt: Nat Chermak, Manitowoc, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and many friends survive. He was preceded in death by his father: John "Jack" Mountford; his father-in-law: Gerald E. Sisel; and one brother-in-law: Bill Sisel.
A memorial of remembrance will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers. The Rev. Tom Reynebeau will officiate with entombment at the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. John loved to tell great stories and jokes.
