O'Connor, Bonnie M.

Bonnie M. O'Connor, age 89, of St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Mary's Home.

Bonnie was born on August 12, 1924 in East Troy, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Lottie Atkinson O'Malley. She was a graduate of Waukesha High School with the class of 1942. She then became employed for three years with the Navy Department-Bureau of Ships in Washington, D.C. This was followed by two years of college at MacMurray College for Women in Jacksonville, Illinois. After college Bonnie became employed for Robert W. Baird in Milwaukee and then as a receptionist at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Wood, Wisconsin. On September 17, 1949 she married Robert J. O'Connor of Manitowoc at Waukesha, Wisconsin. They made their home in Manitowoc where they lived for many years. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1981. Bonnie was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoyed most aspects of her life particularly time spent with family and many good friends. Bonnie enjoyed traveling, playing golf, swimming, biking and playing bridge. Bonnie was known to enjoy a perfect Manhattan cocktail.

She is survived by three sons: Michael (Ginger) O'Connor and their son Tanner of Marietta, Ohio; Timothy (Barbara Zelinski) O'Connor, Cave Creek, Arizona; Patrick (Debra) O'Connor and their son Dalton and their daughter Kelsey, Manitowoc, WI; step grandchildren: Todd (Heather) Elliott and son Christian of Los Angeles, CA; Trent Elliott and children Mallory, Julianne and Liam, Marietta, Ohio; Tiffany Elliott (Joel) Tucker, Marietta, Ohio; two nieces: Mary Lou Mahnke and Katie Hauschulz, Manitowoc, WI; cousins: Keith, Walter, Joyce Atkinson of Oregon; Shirley Murray of Florida. Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Lottie O'Malley; an infant brother; her beloved aunt and uncle Mabel (Atkinson) and Jack Harris.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Cremation will follow and burial of the cremains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
