Paulow, Joan M.
Joan M. Paulow, age 88, formerly of Two Rivers, died Friday afternoon, June 20, 2014, at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Joan was born December 12, 1925, in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Colling) LeClair. She graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1943. On August 28, 1948, she married Daniel L. Paulow at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2007. Joan was an active member of the Ladies of Holy Redeemer and St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Churches, the Damien Guild, the Two Rivers Senior Center and volunteered at the Rogers St. Fishing Village. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, canning and bowling. Joan was a humble, hard working person who took pride in her homemaking abilities. She was a tireless "helper", especially in her later years, always eager to help wherever needed. She had a unique sense of humor, always ready with the one liners.
Survivors include three sons: Kenneth (Carol) Paulow, Olympia, Wash., Terry Paulow and Patti Hayes, Two Rivers and James (Lynn) Paulow, Sheboygan; two daughters: Carolyn Paulow Kordus and husband, Peter, Kimberly, and Jeanne Paulow, Appleton; nine grandchildren: Gabriel (Jill) Kordus, Matthew Kordus, Benjamin Kordus, Ian (Erin) Paulow, Maggie (Mark) Jalcovik, Stephen, Megan, Lydia, and Madelynn Paulow; and five great grandchildren: Zachary, Casey, Jonathan, Annabel and Miriam. She is further survived by a brother: Gerald LeClair; a sister: Carol (Delmar) Meissner; and a daughter-in-law: Pat Paulow, Naples, Fla.; along with nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son: Larry Paulow; five brothers: Edward, Reuben, Hilary, Daniel and Elmer and two sisters: Irene and Lorraine.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Richard Thomas.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.
In lieu on flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church or Rogers St. Fishing Village.
