Koenig, Alice J.

Alice J. Koenig, age 94, a resident of St. Mary's @ Felician Village, Manitowoc, died Monday morning, June 23, 2014, at St. Mary's.

Alice was born January 2, 1920, in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Bruno and Clara Bourgeois Brault. She attended St. Luke's Grade School and graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1938. Alice was employed as a timekeeper at Mirro Aluminum Co. for many years, retiring in 1966. On October 22, 1966, she married Victor Koenig at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers, he preceded her in death on March 25, 1983. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and was also a member of the Altar Society of St. Luke's Church.

Survivors include her stepchildren: Sr. Mary Victoria Koenig, Manitowoc, JoAnn (Richard) Bartzen, Sheboygan, Niel (Peggy) Koenig, Ashburn, Virginia, Glen (Gloria) Koenig, Sheboygan, Fay (Jim) Riesterer, St. Nazianz, Paul (Jeannie) Koenig, Plymouth, Minn., and Peter (Tammy) Koenig, Fall Creek; and a step daughter-in-law: Kathy Koenig, Boulder, Montana. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one on the way, 2 great great grandchildren, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a stepson: Lee Koenig and 13 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dick Mauthe with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, is assisting the Koenig family with funeral arrangements.

Alice's family extends a special thank you to Patty Moore of Rosebud Manor for opening her home to Alice and giving her such loving care years ago. We appreciated it so much. Also we are very grateful to the nurses and staff at St. Mary's Home for the excellent care you have given Alice all these years. You are certainly angels sent from above. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
