Vetting, Bernice M.

Bernice M. Vetting, age 89, formerly of 9197 Highway 151, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.

Bernice was born on March 11, 1925 in Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late August and Marie (Buck) Luebke. On June 2, 1951 Bernice was married to Robert A. Vetting at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2007. She farmed with her husband Robert on the family farm for many years. Bernice was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberty. She enjoyed baking and working in her garden, growing strawberries, raspberries and various other vegetables.

Survivors include her one son and daughter-in-law: Richard (Joni) Vetting, Cato; three grandchildren: Jeremy Vetting; Ryan Vetting; Shaun Vetting; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Gordon (Karen) Vetting, Wauwatosa, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: August and Marie Luebke; her husband: Robert A. Vetting; one son: Roger Vetting; and two sisters: Ione Luebke and Adeline Lutze; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Edward (Jeanette) Lang.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11306 Wehausen Road. The Rev. Gregory Pope will officiate with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
