Petska, Harvey J.

Harvey J. Petska, age 88, of 1308 S. 22nd St., Manitowoc, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc.

Harvey was born December 22, 1925 in the Town of Franklin, son of the late Robert and Tillie (Novy) Petska. On June 1, 1949 he married the former Clara C. Sauer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. He was employed at Invincible for 42 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and enjoyed NASCAR and Brewer Baseball.

He is survived by his wife: Clara C. Petska, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Barbara (Harvey) Day, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law: Paul A. (Susan) Petska, Chicago; three grandchildren: Kevin Day, Green Bay; Samuel Petska (and his fiancée: McKenzie Lode), Bellingham, WA; Laura Petska, Seattle, WA; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Betty Petska, Manitowoc; Judy Petska, Two Rivers; Ann Sauer, Manitowoc; Jim (Adeline) Sauer, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Beatrice Petska; Helen (Ray) Naidl; two brothers: Victor Petska; Joe Petska, other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue. Rev. Dave Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. led by Jerry Schermetzler.
