Lynne M. Gates-Scherer, age 53, of 2107 35th Street, Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, June 26, 2014 at her residence.

Lynne was born in Manitowoc on November 30, 1960 to Donald and Mary Ann (Rosinsky) Gates. She was a 1979 graduate of Sheboygan South High School, and then furthered her education to earn a degree in cosmetology. Over the years, Lynne owned & operated "Head East Salons" in Two Rivers and Manitowoc. On August 6, 1983, she married John Scherer at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Lynne loved spending time with her family, especially her first & only granddaughter, Kailey; she also enjoyed camping, and her dog - Sophie.

Survivors include her husband, John Scherer; her children: Justin Scherer of Two Rivers & fiancé, Brooke Stern, Jordan Scherer of Whitefish Bay & fiancé, Laura Criste, Casey Scherer of Two Rivers & special friend, Kelsey Whitney, and Devan Scherer of Two Rivers; one granddaughter, Kailey; brothers and sisters: Paul (Pam) Gates, Jim (Roxanne) Gates, all of Manitowoc, David Gates, New Berlin, Debra Perry of Manitowoc & her significant other, Robbe Miller, and Mary (Mike) Konitzer of Manitowoc. She is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John Leiker, Manitowoc, Robert Scherer, Howard Scherer, Tom (Kathy) Scherer, all of Two Rivers, Sr. Mary Ann Scherer, of Gary, Indiana, Ruth (John) Seim, Manitowoc, and Paul (Ann) Scherer, Sheboygan; aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces & nephews and friends also survive. Lynne was preceded in death by her father, Donald H. Gates; her mother, Mary Ann Gates Reimer Peterik; one sister, Tammy Leiker; an infant brother; and her father-in-law & mother-in-law, George and Gertrude Scherer.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St. Two Rivers. Rev. Tom Reynebeau will officiate at the service. Cremation has taken place.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. There will be no visitation held this evening.
