Emily A. Burish, age 100, formerly of Menchalville and Kellnersville, died peacefully Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Harmony Living Center of Manitowoc.

Emily was born on July 23, 1914 at Taus in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Havlovitz) Yohanek. On October 15, 1940 she married Gordon F. Burish at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. The couple celebrated 65 years of marriage and Gordon preceded her in death on February 4, 2006. Emily was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville and a member of Kubale-O'Connell VFW Post #6179 Ladies Auxiliary of Kellnersville. She enjoyed her family, baking, flowers, making patchwork quilts, working in her garden, dancing and looking for four-leaf clovers.

Survivors include her children: Mary Kay Burish, Manitowoc; Bonnie (Norman) Loeh, rural Whitelaw; Frank Burish, Kellnersville and his special friend: June DeNoble; one sister: Clara Hacker, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ronald (Mary Lou) Schultz, Denmark; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Mary Yohanek; her husband: Gordon F. Burish; one brother and sister-in-law: Joseph (Iris) Yohanek; five sisters and six brothers-in-law: Elizabeth (Harry) Shupita; Kathryn Augustine-Milbauer (Paul Augustine and Frank Milbauer); Mary (Paul G.) Mangin; Anne (Victor) Krummel; Mildred Hynek; Lester Hacker; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Maureen (Frank) Stradal; Amelia (Norman) Shimek; two nieces: Kathleen (Krummel) Dugan; Joyce (Stradal) Schuh; four nephews: Charles Yohanek; Marvin Augustine; Glenn Shimek; Todd Shimek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The Rev. David Koch will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home in Kellnersville from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when we process to church. VFW Auxiliary Services will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday evening followed by the prayer service at 7:30 p.m. led by Sr. Gerri Krautkramer. Online condolences may be expressed at
