Schroeder, Leo H.

Leo H. Schroeder, age 73, of 2723 42nd Street, Two Rivers, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, surrounded by his family.

Leo was born June 18, 1938, at home in Two Rivers, son of the late Melvin and Helen (Ruminski) Schroeder. He graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1956. On April 30, 1960 he married Lois Bodenstab at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Leo was employed as a milkman for Sorge and Lake to Lake Dairies in Manitowoc, then drove truck for AB Leist until his retirement. After retirement Leo drove bus for Maritime Metro Transit. He was a member of the Two Rivers Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandkids' sporting events. He also enjoyed time up north and always enjoyed his polka music.

Survivors include his wife: Lois, Two Rivers; two daughters and one son-in-law: Shelly and Jerry Braun, Manitowoc; Cindy Nielsen, Woodhull, IL; one son and daughter-in-law: Leo and Jerilynn Schroeder, Two Rivers; five grandchildren: Brandon Nielsen, Samantha and Nicolas Schroeder, Erika and Austin Braun; three sisters and three brothers-in-law: Kathleen and Allan Chaloupka, Denmark; Ruth and Norman Wegner, Two Rivers; Cheryl and David Decker, Two Rivers; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Roger and Betty Schroeder, Green Bay; Arlene Schroeder, Two Rivers; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Wilbur and Gloria Rezachek, Two Rivers, and Corrie Rezachek, MN. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.He was preceded in death by his daughter: Lori Leigh Schroeder; his brother: Robert Schroeder; his sister-in-law: Helen Schroeder; and brother-in-law: Paul Rezachek.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Dick Mauthe. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church from 9:00 am until 10:45 am.

The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aurora VNA Hospice, especially Terri and Lynn, and also to Dr. Yetter and the staff at Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Center.
