Gertrude Ann Hastreiter, age 95, formerly of Cato, passed away on July 2, 2012 at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay, surrounded by her family.

Gert was born on November 7, 1916 in Greenleaf, daughter of the late Anton and Louise (Lemberger) Braun. On June 5, 1940 she married Wilbert Hastreiter at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Whitelaw. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2007. Gert was an avid Packer and Brewer fan, especially liking Aaron Rodgers and Ryan Braun. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, her flower beds, and was well known for her large strawberry patch and the African Violets for which she won numerous awards. Gert also sewed quilts, donating most of them to charities. She especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Gert is survived by her four daughters: Carol Foytik, Diane (Larry) Schlies, Donna (Jim) Mueller, and Luann (Rodger) Rolland; grandchildren: Ric (fiancé Marci) Foytik, Rob (Bethann) Foytik, Brad (Karen) Foytik, Sherri (Mike) Culloton, Brian (Dana) Shavlik, Beth (Rick) Johnson, Kevin (Allison) Mueller, Kara (fiance' Eric) Mueller, Eric Mueller, Jane Rolland, and Catherine Rolland; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister: Georgiana Manlick; three brothers and five sisters-in-law: Al (Janet) Braun, Norbert (Gail) Braun, Gordon (Alice) Braun, Mary Hastreiter, and Laura Braun; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Wilbert, one son-in-law: Frank Foytik, three brothers: Herbert, Elmer, and Anton "Tony" Braun; two sisters and four brothers-in-law: Vivian (Bill) Rychtarik, Janet (WD) McDaniel, Roman Manlick, and Herbert Hastreiter, and other relatives.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Richard Klingeisen, with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville, 15 7th Street, on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service lead by Sr. Geraldine Krautkramer will conclude the evening visitation. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by a procession to the church for the Mass at 11:00 a.m.
