Helen F. Stephani, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, went gently into Jesus' arms with her family at her side, Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her residence.
Helen was born July 30, 1922, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Krainik) Valenta. She was a 1940 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and a 1943 graduate of Loyola School of Nursing in Chicago. On January 20, 1944 Helen was married to Arnold G. Stephani at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Arnold preceded her in death on February 19, 2007. In the past, Helen worked as a registered nurse at Holy Family Hospital, Memorial Hospital and the V.N.A. Helen was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Bethany's Ladies Aid and Natures Own Garden Club.
Survivors include two daughter's and son's-in-law: Pamela (John) Roekle, Appleton; Valerie (Kenneth) Strouf, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Scott (Kristi) Roekle and their children: Ryan and Aimee, Neenah; Stephen (Kristen) Roekle and their children: Cody, Taylor, Ryan and Kevin, Manitowoc; Stephanie (Jeff) Froehlich and their children: Alexandra, Emmalina and Katharina, Appleton; Lisa (Steve) Goldberg and their future child: Baby G, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Lee (Kelly) Korak and their children: Amaya and Morgan, Littleton, CO; one brother-in-law: Orville Stephani, MI; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Helen Valenta; her husband: Arnold Stephani; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Peter and Elizabeth Stephani; one sister-in-law: Lucille Stephani.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with burial of her cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the Stephani family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Helen's name can be made for Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church or the Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
