Ardel M. Tome, age 89, of 4115 Bellevue Pl., Two Rivers, died Monday evening, November 26, 2012, at Harmony of Two Rivers.
Ardel was born August 25, 1923, in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Stegemann) Preles. She attended St. John's Ev. Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Washington High School. On August 13, 1947, she married Melvin Tome at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1984. Ardel was employed at Schwartz Mfg. Co for many years until her retirement. She was an active member of the Two Rivers Senior Center and the Two Rivers Lioness Club for many years. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Ardel was an avid Wisconsin Sports fan who enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and Bucks.
She is survived by her son and a daughter-in-law, Charles "Chuck" (Sharon) Tome of Two Rivers; two grandchildren, Stacey (Jeremy) Picard and Kraig (Heather) Tome; and four great grandchildren, Justin and Payton Picard and Avah and Noah Tome. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Cele Tome and Millie Jimenez, both of Two Rivers, along with a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine (Art) Sonntag and two brothers-in-law, Earl Tome and Joseph Jimenez.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17th and East Park St., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt with burial to take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Lutheran Church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no visitation held this evening.

Ardel's family extends a special thank you to the staffs of Harmony of Two Rivers and Heartland Hospice for the compassion and care shown to mom over the last month.
