Zutz, Aubrey

Aubrey Zutz, age 86, of 106 N 1st Street, St. Nazianz, died Saturday morning, December 8, 2012, at his residence.

Aubrey was born April 26, 1926, in the town of Liberty, son of the late William and Laurina (Nass) Zutz. He was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1943. Aubrey served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Intrepid from 1944 to 1946. On July 15, 1950, he married Gladys Ann Perschke in Brillion. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2012. Aubrey was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years retiring in 1988 as Post Master in St. Nazianz. He was a life time member of the American Legion Post 477, a member of St. Nazianz Lions Club for 60 years receiving the Melvin Jones Fellowship award in 2010, past secretary for St. Nazianz Growth Association, and a past member of the Valders School Board for 11 years. Aubrey was honored to be one of the many World War II Veterans to be part of the Honor Flight to see the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. He was a life time member of Grace Lutheran Church serving as secretary for 40 years. Aubrey enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and yard work. He loved traveling with his wife to all 50 states, parts of Europe and Canada.

Survivors include four children: Kathryn and Gerald Wiskow, Port Washington, WI; Kenneth and Rhonda Zutz, Longmont, CO, Sharon and Walter Asbury, Southlake, TX; John and Angie Zutz, Plover, WI; 11 grandchildren: Robert, Michael, Sarah, William, Christopher, Elizabeth, Samuel, Emily, Trevor, Taylor Rae, Tolya; one great granddaughter: Emma; two sisters: Annabelle Ebenhoe, Manitowoc; Lorraine (Walter) Stenzel, Valders; one brother: William (Elaine) Zutz, Valders, St. Nazianz. two sisters-in-law: Laverne Zutz, Manitowoc; Carol Zutz, St. Nazianz. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one infant son: Robert; two brothers: Orlan Zutz, Teddy Zutz; one sister and brother-in-law: Marlene (Luther) Cook; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Marion (Calvin) Praeger; and one brother-in-law: Tom Ebenhoe.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Philemon Hensel, with burial at Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Wagner-Ebeble-Sukowaty Post 477, St. Nazianz.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday December 14, 2012, at Christianson & Deja Funeral Home, Valders. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning, December 15, 2012, at church from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Aubrey's name.

Aubrey served his Lord, his Family, his Neighbors, his Community and his Country.
