Yvonne R. Knepfel

Yvonne R. Knepfel, age 72, of Sheboygan Falls, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, after a courageous battle with multiple health issues.

She was born on June 29, 1940 in Plymouth daughter of the late Alvin G. and Sylvia L. (Henschel) Henschel.

She attended Elkhart Lake Grade School and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School. She then furthered her education at the Sheboygan County Teaching College.

On July 23, 1960 she married Richard Knepfel at St. Paul United Church of Christ in the Town of Russell. The couple made their home in Elkhart Lake. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2009.

Through out her working career she worked as the school secretary for the school district of Elkhart Lake-Gelnbeuluah for over 30 years.

Yvonne was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in the Town of Russell where she served on the church council, was a member of the Ladies Aid, served as treasurer and financial secretary, and taught Sunday school. Along with her church involvement she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Yvonne's family was her life.

In her free time she enjoyed following all of the Wisconsin sports teams, playing sheepshead, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons Keith (Jodi) Knepfel of Elkhart Lake, Kim (Mary Jane) Knepfel of Oshkosh, two daughters Kaye (Scott) Holschbach of Manitowoc, Kelly Knepfel of Manitowoc; ten grandchildren Kristi Vater, Lukas, Corey, Tye, Sydney and Lindsey Knepfel, Elizabeth Holschbach and Lauren (Matt) Knepfel-Zorn, Stephanie, and Logan Knepfel; a great grandson Caiden Knepfel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 4, 2012 at the Schneider Funeral Home (123 South Street) in Plymouth with the Rev. Keith Hunholz, pastor of St. Paul Christian Church, officiating. Burial will take place Saturday morning in the St. Paul Cemetery in the Town of Russell. Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 5 PM until the time of service.
