Slaby, Carl F.

Carl Frank Slaby passed away on January 2, 2013 He was 87 years old. Carl was born August 4, 1925 to the late Charles and Libby Slaby in the Town of Casco. On June 11, 1949 he married Marge Salmon in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on April 12, 1995. They farmed the family homestead for many years . Carl also worked at the Plywoods in Algoma and Hamilton's in Two Rivers until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Casco.

He is survived by his children Mary (Harvey) Paplham, Carla (Joe) Raisleger, Dennis (Bonnie) Slaby, Ron (Shelley) Slaby, Jeane (Keith) Dahlke, Joe (Helen) Jacobs, 18 grandchildren Tina and Dan Chervenka, Tami and Steve Pazdera, Tanya and Jody Kudick, Travis and Sarah Paplham, Tricia and Chad Delain, Scott Raisleger, Amy and Kent Porter, Jason and Laura Raisleger, Wendy & Clint Petasek, Matt and Katrina Jacobs, Jeff and Kari Jacobs, Stephanie and Dean Vandenbusch, Tyler Slaby, Brooke Slaby, Luke Slaby, Christopher Dahlke, Brent Dahlke , Josh Dahlke , 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sisters and brothers in law, Audrey Repitz, Kewaunee; Mary Tomchek, and Theresa McCarville, Green Bay; Rita and Jim Oudenhoven, DePere and Tom and Joann Salmon, Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Libby Slaby, his wife Marge, his wife's parents, John and Philomene Salmon, daughter Joyce Jacobs, sister and brother- in-law Stanley and Marion Filliez, grandson Timmy Paplham, great grandson Tanner Paplham. He was further preceded in death by his wife's siblings and their spouses, Leo and Marion Salmon, George and Mary Salmon, Geraldine and Buck Garot, Richard and Nancy Salmon and brothers in law Ed Salmon, Jim Salmon, Kenneth Repitz, Kenneth Tomchek, and Rick Mc Carville.

Besides his family, Carl loved his woods and playing cards with his buddies. He enjoyed volunteering for Lifeline and Ag Heritage Days.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. A parish wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Monday until 10:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Church, Casco with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Slovan.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
