Smith, Beckwith (Beck) G.

Beckwith (Beck) G. Smith, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on the 12th of January, 2013, in McAllen, TX, where he has wintered for the past 19 years.

Born April 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Clifford and Helen (Miller) Smith. Beck graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers, WI, with the Class of 1952. Beck served in the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1954. He married the former LouAnn Prausa on July 26, 1958. Beck worked for the city of Two Rivers, until his retirement in 1994. Being an avid golfer, Beck was involved in many golf leagues throughout the years in Two Rivers and McAllen. Throughout his life he enjoyed snowmobiling, trap shooting, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Until his health began to slow him down, he was active in their winter home community entertainment events.

Beck is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, LouAnn and faithful companion, Shamayha. He is further survived by brother-in-law, Clete Shaw, Two Rivers; sisters-in-law, Lorna Smith, Oklahoma City, OK; and Donna Prausa, Two Rivers; nieces and nephews, Lori Cole, Lisa Cox, Lance Smith, Randy Schwake, Brian Schwake, Beth Ann Mott, Becky Price, Cheryl Prausa, Denee Mott, Rachelle Berry, Robin Bergman, Rich Prausa and Deanna Harp. Beck was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lee Smith; sisters, Judy Shaw and Jacqueline Smith; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Bernice Prausa; brother-in-law, Richard (Dick) Prausa; nephew, Lane Smith and niec,e Erin Prausa.

Beck's gentle guidance, sense of humor and great smile will be missed by many. Though his health struggles became harder over the past few years, he continued to enjoy life. In the end, he was prepared to meet his Lord and become a guardian angel for those he had to leave behind.

Beck's wishes were to be "cremated and brought back to Wisconsin in LouAnn's purse in the RV."

A memorial service is being held on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Citrus Valley RV Park, with an additional memorial service to be held at a future date when he returns to Wisconsin one last time. An announcement will be published at that time.

LouAnn would like to thank all those who provided support, assistance and continued prayers over the past few weeks. The outpouring of love and support meant the world to both of them and she would not have been able to get through this difficult time without it.
