Goertz, Alveda D.

Alveda D. Goertz, age 87, formerly of 3100 Peto Street, Manitowoc , died Saturday evening April 20, 2013 at Harmony House, Manitowoc.

She was born on May 25, 1925 in the town of Pound, daughter of the late Irvan and Florence (Truckey) Labine. On June 27, 1942 she married Hugo Goertz at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Mishicot. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2000.

Alveda was a member of the Red Hatters, Ladies Aid Society of Rockwood Lutheran Church, Rockwood Homemakers Club and the Manitowoc Senior Citizens. She worked at Northridge Health Care Center until her retirement.

Survivors include six daughters and three sons-in-law; Patricia and Michael Sobush, Francis Creek, Nona Goertz, Duluth, MN, Julie and Richard Klokow, Grants Pass, OR, Violet and Frank Pajerski, Elkhorn, WI, Phyllis Goertz, Whitefish Bay, Lorna Hilke, DePere, two sons and one daughter-in-law; David Goertz, Whitelaw, Greg and Karen Goertz, Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren: Jameson "Jamie" (Stephanie) Pajerski, Joseph (Kari) Pajerski, Jacob Pajerski, Sonya Sobush, Amy Sobush, Clarissa "Kelly" (Scott) McArdle, Amanda Sinkula and special friend: Craig Fraunfelder, Michelle (Sid) Soltis, Ian Goertz and special friend: Ashley Schultz, Matthew (Megan) Goertz, Elizabeth (Elliot) Swetlik, Erin (Greg) Daniels; 15 great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by an infant son: Jerome; a granddaughter Paula Sobush, two sisters: Sylvia Charlton, Mildred Fitzgerald; and three brothers: Earl Labine, Clayton Labine and Harold Labine.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Rockwood Lutheran Church, Rockwood. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Carl Klein. Entombment will take place following the service at Knollwood Mausoleum, Tn. Of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
