Greg Dodge, 65, of Monterey, California, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013.

Greg was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, on April 3, 1948. He attended St. Mark School and graduated in 1966 from Washington High School in Two Rivers. He also attended U.W. Oshkosh and Lakeshore Technical College.

Greg worked in sales in Manitowoc and Milwaukee. He was on a cross country road trip with a prototype machine when he stopped in Big Sur, California, fell in love with its beauty and never left.

Greg was the Food and Beverage Director at the Ventana Inn in Big Sur, and held various positions at resorts and restaurants in California for the remainder of his career.

Greg married Joyce Thompson in May, 1979 in Big Sur, CA. They enjoyed camping, boating and fishing at their trailer at the lake in northern California for many years. Greg was a great cook and enjoyed auto races and cheering on the San Francisco 49ers.

Greg is survived by his wife, Joyce and their special dog, Rosie Lynn. He is also survived by 5 sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nancy and Dan Chaloupka, Roanoke, VA; Mary Kay Dodge, Middleton, WI; Patricia Dodge and Michael Thomas, Manitowoc, WI; Jeannie Dodge, Oshkosh, WI; Amy Dodge, Two Rivers, WI; one brother Peter Dodge of Pardeeville, WI; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law Judy Thompson, Pacific Grove, CA; Jeanne and David Deverell, Aptos, CA; nine nieces and nephews, James Deverell, Australia; Michelle Deverell, San Francisco, CA; Amanda Chaloupka and John Bannon, Boston, MA; Megan Chaloupka and partner Ryan Mueller, Portland, OR; Lydia Dodge and partner, Chris Honeker, Milwaukee; Sam Thomas and partner, Maura McKinley, Stevens Point; Hannah Thomas, Manitowoc, WI; Hayden and Journey Dodge, Pardeeville, WI; and two great-nieces Arabella Jones, Manitowoc, WI and Helena Bannon, Boston, MA.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Charlotte Dodge, parents-in-law, Don and Bonnie Thompson, sister-in-law, Nancy Thompson, a cousin, Tom Dodge, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends including his faithful companion, Lucky Lee.

Greg had a big heart and a hearty laugh that we will remember and miss. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Monterey, California.
