DeRoche, Cheryl A.

Cheryl A. DeRoche, age 59, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away following a brief illness on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Sherry was born on August 23, 1953 in Manitowoc to Fred and Margaret Denk Burkart. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1971. Sherry had worked as a waitress at the former Big Boy and Plane View restaurants. She had also worked at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and Harmony Living Center in Manitowoc. Sherry loved spending her time being outdoors and gardening. Above all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends - especially her grandson, Kaileb. Sherry was an active member of the Manitowoc congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include Sherry's daughter: Carissa (Scott) Dembraski, Jackson; grandson: Kaileb; parents: Fred and Margaret Burkart, Manitowoc; three siblings: Jim (Ann) Burkart, Whitelaw; Kim Waack, Appleton; and Brad (Lisa) Burkart, Sturgeon Bay; two nieces: Jaimie and Rachel; nephew: Andrew; also other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Keith Sturman will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Following the funeral service, a reception will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Sherry's name.

A special thank you to the many family and friends, and also the staff of 4NT at Froedtert Hospital, for all the care that was given to Sherry during her recent illness.
